The process of estate planning typically involves the drafting of a will to specify the distribution of property after your death, as well as financial and medical powers of attorney in the event you become incapacitated.

Various types of trust documents may also be used for more complex asset distribution and safekeeping, as well as to avoid the probate process. We will craft a personalized estate plan to help achieve your desired legacy.

After a person's death, property often must be administered through the probate process in court, or a trust must be established and managed. We work with executors, beneficiaries, and family members to ensure that you or your loved one's final wishes are carried out.

Our attorneys have extensive courtroom experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants at trial and in the appellate courts.

You will have the benefit of our experience trying cases from start to finish before judges and juries, in contract disputes, trust and estate contests, construction cases, business torts, insurance defense, personal injury, and other areas. Our attorneys are also experienced family law litigators. We will aggressively pursue or defend your claims, while balancing the costs and risks of litigation with your ultimate goals.

Our office includes mediators who are trained to serve as neutral third-parties in matters of family law, probate, and other civil disputes.

We represent individuals and entities in real estate transactions throughout Iowa.

For transactions of residential property, we conduct abstract reviews, issue Title Guaranty commitments and title opinions, review purchase agreements and loan documents, and perform closing services.

For transactions of commercial property, including agricultural property, we work with investors, developers, lending institutions, and landlords and tenants. We also handle residential and commercial leases, including farm leases.

We will apply our extensive experience to defend you against charges of simple, serious, and aggravated misdemeanors, and certain felony offenses in Iowa state courts. We will also help you navigate related administrative processes to minimize the negative consequences that may accompany certain charges and convictions.

We have experience navigating the administrative processes of the United States Patent and Trademark Office. We help register, protect, license, and enforce your intellectual property rights including trademarks and copyrights.
